Koi Kitchen Towel

WOW! I finished this in three days! Wasn't sure if I would, but I stayed up late and just worked on this every spare moment I had!

This is a gift for a family friend who is moving. Unfortunately, I probably will not be able to see her before she goes. I am sending this with my sister and won't see the reaction when the present is opened. I hope it is favorable as I just want to send a little love with her on her journey. She is a very kind and sweet lady and I think my family will be sad to see her go, especially after having lost my mother late last month; another "loss of sorts" will make things seem a bit quieter I think.

This Koi Fish pattern is in my book of Asian designs by Design Works (the same book I'm doing the Kimono Row from). I had done part of this pattern before, a long time ago, but felt it was a good one to do again for this present. I had a few mishaps but nothing too terrible. I'm a little annoyed that I did a few x's the wrong way, but only a few. Hopefully they don't stand out too much.

If anything, this was a good kick in the butt for me to do something "creative" again. I'm still a bit off from last month, but I'm working on getting myself back into things. At any rate, it's a good healing tool - something I really need right now. *sigh*
