Cherry Blossoms - tutorial

Hello everyone! (: The theme of the month is Cherry Blossoms - loved by many people! On this occasion, I would like to share the tutorial I prepared for you! The whole thing was done in Photoshop but I think you can easily repeat it in other programs and even with traditional media. Follow the steps and create your own artwork! Post your drawing on DeviantArt with the tag #CherryBlossomChallenge and get a Profile badge! You can upload your deviation using this link: https://www.deviantart.com/submit/?tags=cherryblossomchallenge - required tag will be added automatically! (: Let's start! I. Draw the first flower. Start by drawing a small circle with 5 lines extending from it. Now make a sketch of the petals of our flower. On the left side of the picture I show you how to draw it easily step by step. At this stage, it is worth focusing on the general arrangement of each element and not going into detail. Once the sketch is ready, we can create a new layer and start to make a

Feature: Drawing water + undiscovered art

It's June, and time for the sixth installment of the "tutorial collection + recent undiscovered art" feature series! :la: Again - the feature will have three parts: One with tutorials/resources related to a specific topic (do suggest topics you're interested in! I'd love to hear from you about this), then a selection of great artwork I have discovered recently with less than 50 favorites, and finally interesting community news such as contests or similar. I'll post one feature once a month, around the 15th, and I plan to keep this going for a while. Then, time to look at how to draw water. Now, water is very versatile, from tiny drops to icicles to clouds, so I've chosen to narrow it down to "water proper" just to be able to go a bit into depth. Starting off, @Bathtoys has some nice tutorials explaining some of the basics of water, especially seas. The second one also includes a guide to how to draw seas, but is also worth looking at for the theory alone: We'll keep with bodies

One Panel Comic Contest - WINNERS!

And the winners are... First Place The square template seemed to be hardest for people to work with creatively (we only got a few squares) but Whim-N-Wonder (https://www.deviantart.com/whim-n-wonder) knocked it out of the park with this dream-like panel that's almost like a fairy tale or children's book adaption. It's mysterious and makes us want to know more. Even imagining where in the comic this takes place (beginning, middle, or end) puts a spin on the image. Absolutely stunning! Second Place origami-roses (https://www.deviantart.com/origami-roses) used their panel to full advantage;   movement and detail to the left and silence that highlights the character to the right. The narrative bubble and state of the
