Knit Trinket

So I had been a great admire the tiny cross stitch pendants of and always wanted to try something like that.  Well, finally got the chance!  I was in Michael's looking for jewelry stuff and found all these little frame pendants.   They had other pictures inside, but I decided it would be worth trying sometime, so bought them and they sat in my craft closet for months!  Last week, I found them while looking for something else and decided to give it a go.  One of my bosses' birthday was earlier this month, so I found a tiny pattern for a yarn ball in the book called, 365 Tiny Cross Stitch Designs by Kooler Design Studio.  It was a good size, I added knitting needles to it and assembled it all together.  the frame is just under 2 inches in size (I wish I had remembered to put something next to it when I took the picture, for size reference).

I don't know if I'll ever do this again.  It really WAS a pain - the frame was flimsy and it was difficult to get the back glass out but I managed.  Then I had to glue the thing shut because even though I tried to fix what I had bent out of shape, the darn thing still wouldn't close!  Still, it was just an experiment and my boss thought it was cute, so cool!

And it got me to cross stitch again, WOOHOO!
